Grimes Releases New 12″ + Video, Tours With Lykke Li
Montreal experimental electro-pop songstress Grimes has just put the finishing touches on her latest musical project; a split 12″ with fellow Montrealer D’Eon. Along with the release comes a brand new music video for the song “Vanessa” from the split. But perhaps the most exciting news of all is that it has just been announced that Grimes will be accompanying Lykke Li on her forthcoming North American tour, including a stop right here in Montreal at Metropolis on May 21st. Miracle Fortress Returns With New Album, Single, Tour
It’s been about 4 years since we’ve heard anything new from Montreal’s Miracle Fortress (AKA Graham Van Pelt). There is good news on the horizon for those of us that have been eagerly awaiting some new music from the talented multi-instrumentalist. Free Download of the Week: The Drums – “Down By The Water”
For our free download this week we’ve got a song for you that isn’t exactly new, but what it lacks in newness it makes up in sweetness. The song is called “Down by the Water” and it can be found on Brooklyn, NY’s The Drums‘ debut self titled LP which is already out now digitally but will see an official North American release on September 14th via Downtown Records.
RATATAT Announce Tour, Play Metropolis Sept. 7, 2010
We’ve got two bits of good news for all you RATATAT fans out there, and judging by the last time they were in town, there are a lot of you. The electro rock duo has just announced plans for a coast to coast North American tour throughout the months of September and October. That’s the first good news. Last April, when I found out that Simon and Garfunkel were coming to Montreal to perform at the Bell Centre in May, I was ecstatic. Simon & Garfunkel Postpone Tour
Bad news for all you Simon & Garfunkel fans, and I know there are a lot of you. Due to vocal strain the duo has decided to postpone their current tour that was supposed to take place throughout the months of April and May until July. Their stop at Montreal’s Bell Center, originally scheduled for May 15th, has been postponed until July 22nd.
